A major power outage across the Old Aberdeen Campus yesterday afternoon caused many of the IT Services of the University, including some of the Library Service’s, to cease functioning properly. We are therefore delighted to say that we are most definitely open today, and operational across all three of our library sites: the Sir Duncan Rice Library, the Taylor Library and the Medical Library.
Primo, our resource discovery tool, is back up and available for searching and our self-issue and returns machines are functioning as normal today.
Some other systems are still under investigation by IT Services. We will provide updates on their availability as and when we know more later today. Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this.
We apologise also for any inconvenience caused yesterday by the wider interruption to our services. Many staff across the University, including IT Services, worked tirelessly yesterday afternoon, evening and through the night to get the campus and the many IT systems restored in a relatively short space of time. Thank you for your patience and understanding as this work took place.
