In just over a week The Sir Duncan Rice Library will be the venue for workshops being run by the University’s IT Service on Formatting your Dissertation or Thesis with Word.
Due to very high demand, unfortunately all spaces on the workshops have been taken. However, help is still at hand for those unable to attend the workshops in person but need some guidance in producing their all important Dissertation or Thesis.
Staff in the IT Service have produced a range of informative and easy to follow online resources on most of the material that will be covered in the classes. There are videos, factsheets and workbooks available for you to use in your own time, wherever you are. These materials cover such features as using Styles within Word, Navigating around your document and Creating Contents Pages, amongst others.
You will be able to access these resources here:
Videos: www.youtube.com/tadlearnit
Factsheets: www.abdn.ac.uk/it/student/help/guides#software
Worksbooks: www.abdn.ac.uk/it/services/training/office10
Also, IT Services are happy to hear from any students who may have comments about these online resources, or would even be willing to attend a small focus group to help improve these materials. If you are interested in this please feel free to email rianne.williams@abdn.ac.uk .
Good luck to those in the midst of producing their Dissertation or Thesis.
And remember, if you are needing any help locating materials for any of your your assignments come and speak with library staff and we will be happy to help.
