On Saturday 27 October there will be a performance of a new piece of music by Professor Pete Stollery as part of Aberdeen’s involvement in the Three Cities Project. The performance, entitled Intermedia Installation (2012), will take place between 18.00 and 20.00 in the Events Area on the ground floor of The Sir Duncan Rice Library. Admission is free and there is no need to book.
To prepare for Saturday’s event, the overspill Cafe seating in the Events Area will be unavailable on Friday 25 October. We apologise for any inconvenience.
During the week following the performance, anyone in the Events Area will be able to engage with this work by creating music and sound art themselves, via computers and sound transformation software that will remain in the Events Area. The music events themselves will not affect the general environment of the Library. So please visit the Area and create and see your own soundscape!
The installation forms part of Sound, North East Scotland’s festival of new music.
From Friday 25 October the ground floor of the Library is also hosting original photographs by Nick Rawle accompanied by new music and songs by Matilda Brown in the exhibition, Matilda’s Music and Mountains. Visitors are encouraged to use the headphones to experience this piece which can be found outside The Gallery.
