Smart phone owners – volunteers needed for 2D barcode tests

2D barcodes provide links to online information simply by reading them into your smart phone. To work your phone needs a camera, internet access and a barcode reader installed. They are a great way of delivering online information from L&HC quickly and easily to your smart phone where you can store it for future use.

Georgia and I are running a trial of 2D barcodes on smart phones today (Friday 30 April) from 1.30-2.30 in the foyer of Queen Mother Library.  We will repeat the trial on Wednesday 5 May in the foyer from 10.30-11.30. Please come along if you want to know more, or email us at factsheet@abdn.ac.uk.

  1. We had really positive comments about the use of 2D barcodes from every student we spoke to on Friday. Many thanks to them all for taking time out to talk to us. Georgia and I will be in the foyer of QML again tomorrow from 10.30-11.30am with a different type of 2D barcode to test. Please do come along if you want to try out your smart phone or find out more.
