Hopefully, you won’t ever need to use it, but did you know that there is a First Aid room located on the First Floor, next to the Information Desk?
If you or someone else feels unwell, tell a member of the floor staff or go to the Information Desk on the first floor. There are trained First Aiders based throughout the library and a tannoy message will be put out to alert them their attendance is required.
In addition, and just so you know, there is a defibrillator located at the Welcome Desk on the Ground floor.

If you visit the library without your card, don’t panic.
Go straight to the Welcome Desk, where you will be issued with a temporary card, which is valid for that day only. This will get you through the secured gates but will not allow you to borrow books.
BE AWARE ONLY 3 CARDLESS VISITS ARE PERMITTED IN AN ACADEMIC YEAR
Please don’t try to access the gates without your card, this can damage the gates and, possibly, injure yourself in the process.
You will be asked to complete a short form, providing your student number, name and address.
Alternative, photographic ID will be requested, or staff can verify your student account using alternative information.
If you only need to use the computers or printers, and so you don’t waste a cardless visit, you can use any of the computer classrooms throughout the campus. Meston and Fraser Noble are closest to the library.
Finally, the Student Hub will provide a free replacement card, if yours has been lost or stolen.
